ACTIVITIES

At Notre Dame Kids Club, the work we do is called “playwork”.   Playwork is an emerging professional field with an increasingly recognised and qualified workforce.  Our approach is based on elements of playwork philosophy; we provide a wide range of play opportunities every day, children freely-choose what they want to participate in, and we encourage them to have fun, challenge themselves, pursue interests and learn new skills.

We have developed a Play Policy that considers the benefits of play, children’s rights and how best to support positive experiences for children in our care.  We believe all children are entitled to play; it is an important part of how they learn and have fun.  It is also a key component of their health and wellbeing which affects their physical, emotional, mental and social development.

Some of our most popular daily activities cover: arts and crafts, board games, construction, card games, computer games, imaginative play, movies, musical instruments, outdoor play, pen and paper games, sports and much more!

Snack time at the Afty is just as popular with the children as our activities!  We have a healthy eating policy and provide a varied menu every day to ensure there is something for everyone.
